The Role Do you enjoy helping people, solving technical issues, and making sure everything just works? As our Service Desk Employee, you’ll be the friendly face of IT—supporting colleagues, fixing problems, and keeping our workplace running smoothly.
As a Service Desk Employee, you are the first point of contact for all IT-related questions. You troubleshoot incidents, handle requests, and support users both in person and by phone. With your hands-on mentality and customer-focused approach, you make sure most issues are solved on the spot.
You are part of our IT team and report to the IT Team Lead.
What You’ll Do ✔️ Provide first-line support for common IT issues, such as:
Laptops that won’t start
Replacing screens and basic hardware
Windows deployments
Minor issues with Office 365 and other office applications
Creating and managing entities in Entra ID
Creating and managing entities in Active Directory
Working with our automation tooling to quickly remediate issues
✔️ Offer support by phone and on-site, ensuring a friendly and proactive experience. ✔️ Spot trends and recurring issues (e.g., Outlook add-on errors, synchronization problems, or Wi-Fi issues) and escalate when needed. ✔️ Keep documentation and the knowledge base up to date. ✔️ Walk through the office to connect with users, gather feedback, offer advice, and understand their experience. ✔️ Register and manage all requests and incidents in the service desk system. ✔️ Use ITIL practices to identify underlying problems and collaborate with System and Network Engineers on long-term solutions. ✔️ Assist in team planning during weekly meetings. ✔️ Support IT projects and contribute to continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For 🎯 A customer-oriented team player who enjoys solving technical challenges. 🎯 Knowledge of office hardware (screens, docking stations, cables) 🎯 Experience with Office 365, VPN clients, and common office IT tools 🎯 A proactive mindset and strong communication skills 🎯 Eagerness to learn and grow within IT 🎯 Availability to work on-site 5 days per week
What You Bring 🎯 2+ years of experience in a similar role 🎯 Secondary vocational education (MBO) 🗣️ Excellent English communication skills 🏡 You live in the Netherlands and able to commute to our Haarlem office 🚗 A valid driver’s license is an advantage
