The Role
At MYLAPS, precision, speed, and reliability are everything. As a Manufacturing Software Engineer, you play a key role in taking our production environment to the next level. You develop the software that quite literally brings our products to life—from assembly and calibration to automated testing and validation.
This role sits at the intersection of software, embedded hardware, and manufacturing engineering. You’ll thrive if you enjoy seeing your code make an immediate, tangible impact on the factory floor: higher throughput, better quality, and smarter automation.
What You’ll Do
✔️ Design, develop, and maintain C++ software running on embedded systems that are core to our manufacturing and production workflows
✔️ Debug and resolve software issues in live production environments where timing and output matter
✔️ Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and test engineers to integrate software into assembly stations, test rigs, and quality-control systems
✔️ Write clean, robust, and well-tested code; actively participate in code reviews, unit tests, and integration tests
✔️ Continuously improve manufacturing software tools, automation frameworks, and system diagnostics
✔️ Support production engineers and technicians by troubleshooting software issues and optimizing manufacturing throughput
✔️ Document software architectures, interfaces, and calibration procedures for production and support teams
What You Bring
🎯 A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field
🎯 5+ years of experience in C++ development, preferably close to embedded hardware or physical production processes
🎯 Hands-on experience with modern development workflows, version control (Git), and test-driven development
🎯 Strong problem-solving skills, an analytical mindset, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to cross-functional teams
🎯 The ability to translate production requirements into scalable and reliable software solutions
🎯 Understanding of embedded hardware architectures, real-time constraints, and communication interfaces (e.g., UART, SPI, I²C, GPIO) is a plus.
🎯 Experience with the Qt Framework and multi threaded processing is a plus.
🎯 Experience with databases or data storage structures related to storing production measurement data is a plus.
🎯 Exposure to quality standards (ISO 9001, ISO 13485, etc.) is a plus
🗣️ Strong technical communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus, not a requirement)
